Katherine Heigl and Patrick Wilson to star in dark comedy

While there's nothing hellish about these "easy on the eyes" actors sharing the screen, the same can't be said about their on-screen marriage.

Actress Katherine Heigl

One-time chick flick icon Katherine Heigl is set to team with swoon-worthy Patrick Wilson for the dark comedy North of Hell.

We can't say we aren't intrigued by this on-screen pairing.

As Deadline reports, Wilson will play a hot shot businessmen named Don Champagne while Heigl will play his controlling wife.

Anthony Burns, who helmed the 2010 drama Skateland , is slated to direct the film. Burns is also penning the screenplay, which is based on a story by Carlo Allen, Ted Elrick, and Tom Lavagnino.

The film will begin shooting in Louisiana in April.

Also next month, Heigl will appear in the family comedy The Big Wedding, along with Robert De Niro, Diane Keaton and Amanda Seyfried. She'll also voice an animated character in The Nut Job, with Liam Neeson and Will Arnett.

Though the actress has starred in hits like Knocked Up, her last few films, New Year's Eve and One for the Money, failed to find an audience. Perhaps North of Hell will put her back on the map.

Wilson recently appeared in a controversial episode of the HBO hit Girls and is set to reunite with director James Wan for not one, but two horror films. The actor will appear in the eeriehaunted house flick The Conjuring and the highly anticipated sequel to the sleeper hit Insidious.

Horror movie fanatics will be thrilled by The Conjuring>>

North of Hell is the second dark comedy he has in the pipeline. Later this year, he'll appear in the sci-fi dramedy Space Station 76, opposite Liv Tyler.

A lot of us are too young to remember the 1972 porno Deep Throat with the ridiculous premise that a woman’s clitoris was between her tonsils. Linda Lovelace was an unlikely sex symbol but became the icon for both the sexual revolution and later, for the anti-porn movement. This movie tries to undress the real woman behind Deep Throat.

Seth MacFarlane's found a new female lead for next year's Ted 2. The previous film featured Mila Kunis as the headlining actress, but now that title goes to Amanda Seyfried. The blond beauty has officially joined the sequel according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Seth MacFarlane makes his big-screen debut with Ted >>

Not much else is known about Seyfried's character or the film's plot. Mark Wahlberg will return as the 30-something man-child John Bennett, and MacFarlane will reprise his role as the title character, Ted. Kunis appeared in the original as John's long-suffering girlfriend, Lori. Even though she's no longer part of the main cast, she could possibly make a cameo in the follow-up. Fingers crossed.

A Million Ways to Die in the West restricted trailer: Funny or not? >>

By the end of the first film, John and Lori had made great strides as a couple, but we don't think their relationship was meant to last. Perhaps Seyfried plays John's new love interest? Or maybe she'll have a forbidden romance with Ted himself. MacFarlane previously worked with the actress in the upcoming comedy, A Million Ways to Die in the West.

Seth MacFarlane: There will be a Family Guy movie >>

When Ted was released in 2012, it became the highest-grossing R-rated film of the year. It earned $550 million worldwide. It was also MacFarlane's live-action feature film debut. Considering the subject matter and rating, it could have easily been a flop. But, thanks to hilarious writing and lively performances, it was a hit.

Ted 2 opens in theaters June 26, 2015.

What do you think of Seyfried joining the Ted team?

Amanda Seyfried proves security risk with Swiss Army knife

Amanda Seyfried boarded a flight on Friday, and she has proven to the world that perhaps the TSA needs to tighten up on its security because she accidentally managed to sneak a Swiss Army knife on board. Yikes!

The Lovelace star managed to get through the security checkpoint undetected before she finally realized she still had a weapon in her possession.

And instead of keeping quiet about her slipup, she decided to share this news (and potential security risk) with her fans on Twitter.

"Dear TSA: This Swiss Army knife wasn't detected through security and I unknowingly carried it on board. Scary!" Seyfried tweeted, along with a picture of her pocketknife.

Seyfried is right; the fact that the weapon was not detected is certainly very scary!

And it's not like the beauty needed another reason to hate airlines! Seyfried has already expressed her distaste for airlines over the years. Just last month, she apparently flew into a rage at Los Angeles International Airport after finding the pesky paparazzi waiting for her at the gates.

According to the New York Daily News, the Ted 2 star asked fans and paps at the time, "How the f*** did you know I'd be on this flight? I hate American Airlines! They always tip people off where celebrities are going to be."

Seyfried later tweeted, "Quiz: Which airline hires sweaty robot photographers to stalk their passengers? #businessasusual."

Let's hope the TSA sorts out any faults in its security checkpoints because this story could have had a far more sinister ending.

Amanda Seyfried talks sex scenes, kissing Megan Fox

Amanda Seyfried is not the kind of actress who shies away from a role because of a sex scene and has actually learned to love those she has been in. Seyfried has kissed stars like Channing Tatum and Justin Timberlake, and even Jennifer's Body costar Megan Fox.

INTERVIEW: Amanda Seyfried gets raw with Lovelace >>

"We kissed really well together," Seyfried told W magazine of Fox. "We have similar kissing styles! If I watch that scene, it's actually really sexy."

Seyfried has appeared in many romantic comedies, including Mamma Mia, Dear John and Letters to Juliet, but got her start in Mean Girls and Veronica Mars. Seyfried admits those scenes have occasionally translated into real-life romances.

"When you're young, it's hard not to get together with your costar," she said. "It's not always a great idea, but the experience of making a television show or movie is so intimate and romantic. And I love acting like I'm in love!"

One of those romances was with her Mamma Mia costar Dominic Cooper, whom she was with for three years. Even though the relationship didn't work out, they still "love each other." She has most recently been linked to actor Justin Long.

Amanda Seyfried: I go for "creeps" >>

Seyfried's kissing scenes have occasionally gone further, and the actress told W that sex scenes are "great."

"A lot of my costars have been sexy guys my age who are really respectful and cool," she said. "So, why not? I'm not going to pretend it's not fun."

Seyfried's most-recent film, Lovelace, had her acting as a porn star, and her next role will have her next to (maybe dating?) a stuffed bear. The actress has signed on for Seth MacFarlane's Ted 2.

Seyfried's interview is in the April issue of W.
