Movie Review: In Time

In Time is a stylized sci-fi movie about a futuristic world where time is the highest commodity you can find.

In Time is a retro, cool, rock-and-roll style action flick where Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried beat the clock with love on their side. Think Bonnie and Clyde meets Blade Runner with the cars from Starsky and Hutch.

In Time

If you want to be young forever, you have to pay for it. And everyone in this futuristic world is willing to do that. Because if you don't, you'll die.

Yes! J.T. back on the big screen, again!

J.T. is gritty, tough and has a gorgeous 5 o'clock shadow. The only thing missing is his golden voice. If only they could have done what Friends With Benefits did this summer and find a way to let him sing a little… but alas, we'll have to wait for his next appearance on Saturday Night Live.

Video: Justin Timberlake tells us his boyhood fantasy >>

Still, In Time gives Timberlake the chance to show us he's more than just 'N Sync by showing off his action hero chops as Will Salas, a working class guy just trying to make it through the day. Literally, he's just trying to make it through the next 24 hours. In order to do so, he's got to earn every minute of his own life clock by working, trading, saving and negotiating.

Video: Amanda Seyfried: Why Justin Timberlake is the perfect guy >>

Mad Men's Vincent Kartheiser a delicious villain

When Will meets billionaire Philippe Weis , who has several centuries on his life clock, the bidding war begins for which of these two will rule the time zone.

Enter Weis' daughter, Sylvia, played by Amanda Seyfried. Pretty, charming and bringing it with that rock-star edge, she's the daddy's girl who wants to find her own place in the world. When Will kidnaps Sylvia and takes her to the wrong side of town, the two soon discover if they don't work together, they'll never break down the walls of this time prison.

Cillian Murphy plays the good cop gone bad and back again. We loved him as a psycho shrink in Batman Begins, but here he's even more interesting as someone the audience can't quite peg.

Forever 25...? Only in Hollywood!

Matt Bomer

White Collar star Matt Bomer deserves a second look as the emotional billionaire who gets the movie going. He's charming, gorgeous and we'd love to have more of him on the big screen. Maybe this picture-perfect hunk deserves a rom-com where girl-next-door wins the man of her dreams…? Just saying.

In Time brings a gorgeous cast -- how could they not, everyone in this world is perpetually 25, just like in Hollywood! But, if you're looking for an explanation to this catastrophic way to live, the film dances around the issue, leaving it up to the audience to decide.

Bottom line: If you're looking for a good sci-fi action movie with a funky world, great cars and one hot J.T, In Time just might stop the clock for you.

Justin Timberlake tells us his “boyhood fantasy”

The newest addition to the action movie genre, Justin Timberlake, tells SheKnows why he loved playing the “everyday hero” in In Time.

Justin Timberlake loves trying new things.

"Variety is the spice of life," Justin told SheKnows while promoting his new sci-fi flick In Time.

Movie Review: Timberlake stops the clock In Time >>

So when he got the opportunity to try out the role of the action hero, a previously unfulfilled childhood dream, he jumped at the chance.

"It's the first character that I've looked at and took on the role just because I admired him," said Justin. "It's like every boyhood fantasy I've ever had… shooting guns, flipping cars, and kicking guys asses. And you know, making out with a hot girl. Not in that order of importance, but having it all in the same movie."

Video: Amanda Seyfried tells us what it was like kissing JT >>

Timberlake said he's always liked the concept of an average guy fighting against the odds.

"It's how I hope I would respond to having my back against the wall," he told SheKnows. "The concept itself is provocative, to have this other world that exists, and to have a really everyday man inside of that world, just kind of staying alive."

Justin Timberlake, In Time

When questioned what he would do with one day to live, like the characters in In Time, Justin's desires were simple.

"I'd play golf," he said. "I'd eat. I like to eat a lot. I'd hang out with my family. Playing this role definitely made you think more about that type of experience. You should be appreciative of the time that you do have."

And now that the movie is out, Justin said he's going to spend his time doing just that.

"For the rest of the year, I'll have a snowboard strapped to my feet," he told SheKnows. "I'll be vacationing, taking a break."

Bet he'll be spending some time with on-again girlfriend Jessica Biel as well!

Amanda Seyfried's racy new role: Porn star

Amanda Seyfried's next role takes her into risque territory. The actress is in negotiations to play late porn star Linda Lovelace in an upcoming biopic.

Amanda Seyfried at In Time PremiereAmanda Seyfried's going from Red Riding Hood to porn star legend. The actress is in serious talks to headline a biopic about infamous adult actress Linda Lovelace. Lovelace made a name for herself in the '70s when she appeared in the extremely successful Deep Throat. The film was one of the industry's first commercial hits, which proved that pornography could be a viable business.

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that while Seyfried is in negotiations to play Lovelace,  Peter Sarsgaard is up for the role of her husband Chuck Traynor. The film's story will be adapted from the biography The Complete Linda Lovelace, written by Eric Danville. The book was originally published in 2001, one year before Lovelace's untimely death .

Lovelance was born Linda Boreman in the Bronx, New York, and despite her Catholic upbringing and private school education, she went on to become one of the biggest stars in the adult film industry. Her career breakthrough came in 1972, when she appeared in Gerard Damiano's Deep Throat. After the film's release, she was in high demand, but her reservations about the business and her controlling husband eventually took their toll.

Lovelace's controversial story is a hot topic in Hollywood. Aside from the Seyfried and Sarsgaard production, there's another biopic in the works called Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story. The latter film will feature Malin Akerman and Matt Dillon as the main characters. At one point Lindsay Lohan was attached to appear in Inferno, but was fired due to her legal and substance abuse troubles.

Amanda Seyfried is currently appearing in the sci-fi film In Time, alongside Justin Timberlake.

Amanda Seyfried is on a mission in the new trailer for Gone. The actress hits the ground running in the suspense thriller about a kidnapping plot gone awry.

Amanda Seyfried

Amanda Seyfried is a girl on the run! The actress headlines a new thriller called Gone, in which she plays a woman desperate for answers. Her sister Molly has been kidnapped and she's willing to go above and beyond the law to bring her home.

Seyfried's character, Jill Parrish, initially goes to the police for help, but they're too interested in following procedure. They're not willing to take the necessary risks to save her sister's life. Convinced that Molly will be dead by sundown, Jill takes matters into her own hands. She becomes a vigilante, evading authorities at every turn.

You might be asking yourself, "How does she know how long Molly has to live?" Apparently, Jill was abducted a year before, but managed to escape. She believes her kidnapper came back to finish the job. Unfortunately, instead of grabbing her, he snatched Molly!

The cast for Gone is filled with familiar faces. The primary detectives on the case are played by Daniel Sunjata from The Devil Wears Prada and Katherine Moennig from the defunct TV series The L Word. There's also Dexter'sJennifer Carpenter and Sebastian Stan from Captain America: The First Avenger.

Seyfried can currently be seen in the sci-fi thriller In Time with Justin Timberlake. Similar to her role in Gone, she spends most of the movie dodging the authorities.

SheKnows gets an exclusive look at the new psychological thriller starring Amanda Seyfried that puts this victim face-to-face with her maniacal attacker.

Gone

Amanda Seyfried can't take no for an answer. In her new action-thriller Gone, she's got a mission and one mission only -- to find the intruder who kidnapped her sister before it's too late. Unfortunately, this is the same guy who dragged her out of bed kicking and screaming last year. Oh yeah, he's back…

Nobody believes her

Not the police, not her friends, nor her family. Everyone thinks what happened to Jill last year was all a misunderstanding, that she's just traumatized by the idea that her sister could have been kidnapped, too. Jill knows better, and she's not gonna rest until she gets her sister back. When authorities tell her to go home and get some rest, Jill decides to go on a quest to find the killer herself.

'I'll sleep when he's dead'

Not only is this a race against time to find her sister before sunset, but for Jill, it's personal. She's not willing to let this intruder off without a confrontation. Co-starring with Seyfried is actress Jennifer Carpenter of Dexter and Quarantine. Wes Bentley from American Beauty rounds out the cast to make this a cat-and-mouse game of wits to see who is smarter, the hunter or the hunted.

Starring in fast-paced action style films is becoming a regular thing for Seyfried, who co-starred with Justin Timberlake in the sci-fi action thriller In Time earlier this fall. The 26-year-old Mamma Mia! star proves that she can sing, dance and handle complicated stunts just like the rest of Hollywood's A-list actors. Seyfried continues to take on more daring roles as her fans continue to be thrilled by seeing her save the day. We're just hoping that, this time, she finds her sister in time.

Directed by Heitor Dhalia  and written by Allison Burnett Gone releases in theaters Feb. 24.

Taylor Swift is in tune with Les Misérables

Forget Nashville, Taylor Swift is tackling Hollywood. The award-winning singer has been offered a role in the big screen adaptation of Les Misérables.

Taylor Swift

Tom Hooper has his eye on country superstar Taylor Swift. The Oscar-winning director wants the singer to appear in his highly anticipated musical Les Misérables.

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that offers have gone out to Swift and actress Amanda Seyfried. If they both accept, Swift will tackle the role of Éponine and Seyfried will fill the shoes of Cosette.

Swift beat out some tough competition to land her part. Broadway and Glee star Lea Michele, Tony-award winner Scarlett Johansson and Evan Rachel Wood were all vying for her role.

Last year, Swift spoke to MTV about her future projects and hinted that more movies were on the horizon. She said she's working on "some surprise projects that may or may not happen, and possibly some acting."

As for Seyfried, she's already appeared in her fair share of musicals, including 2008's Mamma Mia! Not only is she a talented actress, but she's also an opera-trained singer. That's great news, because Hooper plans to use the actors' real singing voices in the film -- not doubles.

Seyfried's character will work closely with Anne Hathaway who'll play Fantine, her on screen mother. The actresses are only three years apart in age, but with the right hair, makeup and wardrobe they could make it work.

The rest of the film's stunning cast includes Hugh Jackman as the lead, Russell Crowe as his nemesis and Sacha Baron Cohen, Helena Bonham Carter and Eddie Redmayne in supporting roles.

Shooting rehearsals are slated to begin later this month.

Les Misérables is scheduled to hit theaters Dec. 7.

Sarah Jessica Parker replaces Demi Moore in porn bio

$

Sarah Jessica Parker will replace Demi Moore in a key role in the porn star biopic Lovelace, the filmmakers confirmed today.

Sarah Jessica ParkerA lost opportunity for Demi Moore translates to a new paycheck for another actress. Filmmakers Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman told Entertainment Weekly that Sarah Jessica Parker is taking over for Moore in the movie Lovelace.

Moore had been set to portray feminist icon Gloria Steinem in the biopic of the life of Deep Throat porn star Linda Lovelace, but dropped out earlier this week after she was hospitalized for what her rep called "exhaustion."

Since then Moore has been plagued by rumors of drug use and anorexia.

The filmmakers had previously confirmed Moore's casting on Jan. 2, 2012, but she had not begun filming yet. However, they needed a replacement quickly, and Parker is scheduled to begin shooting on Monday.

In a role originally slated for Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried will play Linda Lovelace, a porn star who became famous for her starring role in the cult adult film Deep Throat. Lovelace later claimed she had been forced into her porn career by her first husband Chuck Traynor, who she alleged also pushed her into prostitution.

The porn actress turned her back on the industry in 1980 when she joined the anti-pornography movement, supported by feminist leaders Gloria Steinem, Andrea Dworkin, Catherine MacKinnon and the group Women Against Pornography.

In her book The Other Hollywood, Lovelace later said she felt used by the feminist movement. "Between Andrea Dworkin and Kitty MacKinnon, they've written so many books, and they mention my name and all that, but financially they've never helped me out," she wrote. "They made a few bucks off me, just like everybody else."

Linda Lovelace died in 2002 from injuries suffered in a car accident and remained a polarizing figure up to her death, with some -- including several co-stars -- claiming her allegations of being forced into porn were fake and she loved every minute of it. You can judge for yourself when Lovelace is released later this year.

Amanda Seyfried is scared of being a ho

Amanda Seyfried says no casual sex for her, thanks: The Gone actress is "terrified" of being slutty. Why? It has nothing to do with what we think of her and everything to do with what she thinks of herself.

Amanda Seyfried

Despite being tied to the likes of Ryan Phillippe, Jesse Marchant and Dominic Cooper, Gone actress Amanda Seyfried says the last thing she wants to be labeled as is a slut.

The beautiful blonde told Glamour that she is "terrified" of getting around because it makes her feel bad about herself.

"I'm terrified of being promiscuous," Seyfried told the mag. "I don't like the feeling you get when it's not something that you truly want to do, and I hate the emotional abuse you give yourself afterward. It's just uncomfortable when you're with somebody and you're like, 'I don't really know if I'm even comfortable with this. Why did I? Eww!' I think dating can come without sex."

Interestingly, Seyfried is currently filming Lovelace, in which she plays the infamous Deep Throat star herself.

Of course, every savvy single gal knows the value of recycling old boyfriends -- if they're worthy. Seyfried is no different. Seyfried said her Mamma Mia! costar Dominic Cooper, whom she dated for several years, is still on the table as a possible partner.

"He was my last real boyfriend," she said. "We still joke about having kids, like, 'If it doesn't work out with other people, we might as well just have a child,' and there's a part of that that feels… possible."

Exclusive: Amanda Seyfried is unstoppable in the new Gone trailer>>

And in her case, it's possible that recycling someone good might be her best bet anyway -- because dating randoms is fraught with the possibility that they love fame more than the person.

"You learn very quickly what people are so enamored with, and it's not necessarily me. I think it's all the bulls**t of the idea of someone who's famous, which seems more exotic than the fact. You have to be careful whom you date, but I had a great time this summer," she said.

"Right now I'm happy to not have someone's naked body around me. Except for my dog's."

Catch Amanda Seyfried in Gone, due in theaters Feb. 24, 2012.

Shiny waves

We have a total hair crush on Amanda Seyfried's perfect waves this week. Find out why in this week's installment of Celeb Hairstyle of the Week!

Amanda Seyfried is the envy of women everywhere for her flawless skin -- it landed her a spot as the face of Clé de Peau Beauté, after all! -- and her piercing eyes, but the stunning actress also has some pretty enviable locks.

The Gone star stepped out for the new movie's Los Angeles premiere this week in a blush Nina Ricci dress and Giuseppe Zanotti shoes and paired her look with perfectly coiffed curls.

We're not big fans of her dress -- nice concept, poor execution -- but are totally obsessed with her hairstyle in this photo! Seyfried's waves look super shiny without being sticky, and they have the perfect pattern -- deliberate but a tad imperfect. They sort of remind us of Ashley Greene's gorgeous People's Choice Awards waves.

We're loving Amanda's wonderful waves! How about you? Sound off in the comments! And check out other celebrity hairstyles!

Mais oui, Amanda Seyfried, we’ll learn French with you

She sings, she dances, and she beats up bad guys. Is there anything Amanda Seyfried can’t do? The star of the new action thriller Gone sat down with SheKnows to fill us in on a few more things this Hollywood powerhouse would love to master.

The 26-year-old actress is becoming somewhat of a go-to in Hollywood these days -- the versatile actress who can carry a comedy, musical or a thriller. You pick. Amanda Seyfried is your girl.

Amanda Seyfried prefers her dog over one-night stands >>

Famous for her adorable performance in Mamma Mia!, Seyfried has graduated to the role of a fearless woman who will stop at nothing until her sister is safe in the new fast-paced thriller Gone.

"She's not an action star, and she's not a superhero; she's just a girl who has to live by her instincts," Seyfried said of her character while sitting barefoot and cross-legged in a director's chair at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills. SheKnows caught up with the artful, inspiring actress while she was promoting the movie, which co-stars Daniel Sunjata and Jennifer Carpenter.

"She's just a girl who has to live by her instincts

"I hope that if ever the stakes were that high for me, I would be able to do the same thing, but I don't know," she says. "It's adrenaline and willpower."

This kind of determination -- trying to track a serial killer who recently kidnapped you -- is tough when no one believes you-know-who committed the crime. A game of wits ensues, and it's up to Seyfried's character to persevere.

"If you really want something, you can get it," she says -- a motto she takes personally and applies to her own life. "It's good to be ambitious. It's good to remember that you can do anything you put your mind to."

Is there anything the blonde-haired, green-eyed girl from Pennsylvania would like to do? "I really want to be fluent in French," she says. "I just have to have time to focus and do it every day."

Mais oui, Amanda! All you have to do is put your mind to it.

Gone opens in theaters Feb. 3.

Movie review: Gone

Amanda Seyfried stars in this tricky psychological thriller, where a mentally unstable young woman must fight for her sister's life. Gone will keep you guessing until the very end.

Amanda Seyfried in goneGone starts in the wilderness, with Jill, played by Amanda Seyfried, cautiously following a river upstream. Making notes on a map, it appears she's covered quite a bit of Forest Park, which is a giant land preserve in the Pacific Northwest. What is she searching for? Something her studious sister Molly, played by Emily Wickersham, clearly doesn't want her to find. Then the flashbacks begin, revealing something terrible happened to Jill. That's why she's popping antidepressants and sending herself text alerts reminding her to smile. When she arrives home to find her sister inexplicably missing, things go from bad to worse.

Jill goes to the police, who know her all too well. She's the girl they believe "faked" her own abduction, claiming to have escaped from a deep dirt hole filled with the bones of previous victims somewhere in Forest Park. When the police searched for the kidnapper and his ghastly death pit, they found nothing. It's then revealed that lovely little Jill has a history of mental illness. Exasperated, Detective Powers, played by Daniel Sunjata, finally tells her, "It's all in your head."

Considering that Jill does have a way of exaggerating stories, that both her parents died within months of each other, prompting psychological counseling and her sister tends to disappear on drinking binges, the police may have a point. Even her best friend and co-worker Sharon, played by Jennifer Carpenter, doesn't seem to believe her. Either way, we know Jill believes her story and nothing will stop her from finding Molly.

Gone is a psychological thriller that will keep you guessing all the way through. There is a thin line separating the good guys from the bad guys, leaving Jill to fight this battle entirely alone. Amanda Seyfried is spot-on as our troubled heroine, a perfect blend of terrified angst and kick-butt courage. Those big eyes of hers reveal her deep wounds and overworked nerves, making you root for her even when her story seems to unravel. Of course, I won't give the ending away, but I can say it will make you remember to lock your front door tonight. And check the window locks, too.

Bottom line: Gone is a well-acted, guessing-game of a thriller, making for a mostly satisfying movie.

Sneaky, sneaky: Josh Hartnett & Amanda Seyfried dating

$

In Time actress Amanda Seyfried isn't single anymore! The blonde stunner has reportedly been dating hottie Josh Hartnett since January.

Amanda Seyfried seeing Josh Hartnett: Report

Actress Amanda Seyfried's list of ex-boyfriends reads like a who's who of Hollywood: She's rumored to have dated everyone from Justin Timberlake to Ryan Phillippe. The latest on the list? Actor Josh Hartnett.

"Josh likes to keep things low-key, so they've just been hanging out," a Hartnett friend revealed to US Weekly, adding that a pal set them up.

It must be casual: The actress was dating real estate broker — and Timberlake pal — Justin Huchel until Valentine's Day, according to the New York Post.

However, Seyfried still considers her Mamma Mia co-star, Dominic Cooper, to be her last "real" boyfriend, even if he didn't exactly see their relationship the same way.

"[It is] one of the easiest things in the world," she said of falling in love on a set. "You're both open. You're put in a situation where you have to make out with each other. It's easy for things to get carried away."

"But to be honest," she said, "all that sex-symbol stuff went way over my head. I just found him funny and it was like we were the same person — except that he's British, almost 30 and a man! We both look like frogs with our wide-set eyes, we're both indecisive and neither of us has a lot of willpower."

However, Cooper was still with his longtime ex, according to Seyfried.

"I got my heart broken pretty hard," the 26-year-old told ELLE last year. "After that, it's really hard to open myself up to a new person. Really hard."

She wasn't exactly the most faithful, either — she revealed to the women's magazine that she was casually seeing hottie Alexander Skarsgard while dating Cooper.

"We dated," she said of the True Blood actor. "He's super funny, but I was too involved with Dom."

Um, Amanda — we're more than willing to help you out with your dating dance card. Just let us know which guys you can't handle and we'll take over.

Why is Amanda Seyfried now a saucy brunette?

Mamma Mia! star turns in her wholesome look to portray the complex and often tragic life of porn star Linda Lovelace in the new biopic.

Lovelace

First, she performed in porn films, and then she condemned them. She was Linda Lovelace, the star of one of the most famous hardcore porn films of all time: Deep Throat and its subsequent spinoffs.

Photo: Amanda Seyfried on the set of Lovelace in L.A.>>

Before Lovelace was watched by every teenage boy in America, she was a confused, insecure working-class girl from the Bronx hoping to make something of her life. She never dreamed where her passions would take her.

After being forced into the porn industry at gun point, she claimed, by her first husband, she quickly grew to despise the business for what it was -- a seedy, degrading industry where women were treated like animals.

Her life story is anything but boring, and when it came time to put this saga on screen, who could capture the vulnerability and sexiness of Linda Lovelace all rolled into one?

The casting world was all abuzz when sweet, girl-next-door with a golden voice Amanda Seyfried was picked to play Lovelace in the new biopic of the same name helmed by documentary filmmakers Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman.

Mais oui, Amanda Seyfried, we'll learn French with you>>

The film tracks Lovelace’s life from ages 20-32, her rise to stardom in the porn world and her eventual rejection of the industry as a whole.

The newly-released poster shows a sexy, brunette Seyfried, one we haven’t seen in her recent action films -- In Time where she played opposite Justin Timberlake in the sci-fi thriller and Gone where she played a girl misunderstood by her friends and family. Here, Seyfried embodies the complex character that often didn't agree with the lifestyle she was leading.

Lovelace co-stars include Peter Sarsgaard, Hank Azaria, Wes Bentley, Adam Brody, James Franco, Sharon Stone, Juno Temple and Sarah Jessica Parker.

BFFs for brainy couple Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield

In the new Spider-Man reboot, Andrew Garfield plays a web-slinging superhero with a supersize crush on Emma Stone's Gwen Stacy. Offscreen, the actor harbors an equally "marvel"ous affection for the actress. As both are known to be exceptionally clever, we channel our spidey senses to pick a few other smartypants pairs to keep company with Emma and Andrew.

The Amazing Spiderman's Andrew Garfield and Emma StoneJason Segel and Michelle Williams

Sure, Jason Segel is funny, but the side-splitting star boasts super smarts as well. In addition to acting, Segel counts composing, puppeteering, screenwriting, and being a musician as extracurriculars. Plus, he wrote the so-hilarious-it's-genius Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Need we say more? As for his soft-spoken squeeze Michelle Williams, she won the Robbins Trading Company World Cup Championship of Futures Trading at the tender age of 16 for taking $10,000 and turning it into $100,000 . Michelle then broke into acting on Dawson's Creek, but has moved from the sitcom's high school hijinks to Academy- and Oscar-award nominated turns in critically acclaimed films, such as My Week with Marilyn. When she's not reading scripts, the self-professed bookworm reads and collects rare books.

James Franco and Amanda Seyfried

Are they or aren't they? We may not be sure about their romantic status, but we are sure James Franco and Amanda Seyfried would make perfect partners for Emma and Andrew during a rousing round of team trivia. James Franco collects degrees like Lindsay Lohan collects court dates. After originally dropping out of UCLA to pursue acting, the star eventually completed his undergraduate education at UCLA in Creative Writing -- even earning a reportedly staggering 62 credits in a single semester. He's since racked up a Bachelor of Fine Arts in English from UCLA, Master of Fine Arts degrees in writing from Columbia and Brooklyn College, and a Master of Fine Arts in film from New York University. He's been sneaking around lately with Amanda Seyfried, who may not be as learned as her beau , but she did train in classical opera for two years and write one of the songs on the Dear John soundtrack. That's something, right?

John Krasinski and Emily Blunt

Before he made us fall in love with him as "Jim" on The Office, John Krasinski took a raincheck on his first semester of college to teach English in Costa Rica. He hit the books hard upon his return to get an Ivy League education, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and as an honors playwright from Brown University. Oh, and then he went on to study at the Eugene O'Neill National Theater Institute. Show-off! He made yet another smart decision in 2010 when he made Brit actress Emily Blunt his bride. Schooled at England's top boarding school in her youth, Blunt has made big waves during her relatively short tenure in Hollywood thus far. She must be doing something pretty impressive: After appearing alongside the legendary Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada, Meryl called Emily the best young actress she has worked with recently -- and maybe ever.

Did you know? The following hot, young celebs studied at Ivy League universities and are considered some of the sharpest wits in Hollywood: Julia Stiles, Emma Watson, Matt Damon, Rashida Jones and Natalie Portman.

Les Miserables film releases extended first look

The actors and crew talk about what will make this version different from the others. The movie will include no prerecorded songs, a rarity for musicals these days.

The much-anticipated film version of Les Miserables is only a few months from hitting theaters, and today, Regal Cinemas released an "Extended First Look" at the film. The preview goes into different aspects of the film, the story and the process.

One major departure this film takes from past movie musicals is its avoidance of the use of prerecorded music. According to actor Eddie Redmayne, in many musicals the actors go into the recording studio to record their songs, and months later they act to that music. But in this case, the singing becomes part of the acting. "We have found an amazing group of actors who are completely at home acting through music," said Cameron Mackintosh, a producer with the movie. "The only way you can make that work is by capturing it in the moment."

For many of the actors, the thought of singing on camera was scary at first, but they found that it made the movie a much more intense process as well as a better final product. "The idea of singing live is daunting, but what it gives you is this freedom," said Hugh Jackman.

"Every single person is seeing every take live," said Russell Crowe. The process isn't done completely acapella though. While singing on camera, each actor gets musical cues through an earpiece, and when filming is complete, the vocal tracks will be backed by a full orchestra.

The Extended First Look is full of goodies like Hugh Jackman singing during his interview, and there are other interviews with stars Anne Hathaway, Russell Crowe and Amanda Seyfried.

According to Universal Pictures, Les Miserables has been seen by more than 60 million people in 42 countries and has been performed in 21 languages. "Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Miserables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption — a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit," said the film company.

Les Miserables is set to be released on Christmas Day, 2012.

Poor Amanda Seyfried. It’s not enough that she had to live in obnoxiously hot best friend Jennifer’s shadow on a normal basis — Jennifer had to go get herself killed in a satanic ritual and become a blood-drinking demon who eventually seduces and kills her BFF’s boyfriend. Even when she looks like hell , Megan’s character somehow makes being possessed seem sexy.

It's worn the crown of longest-running musical and graced countless stages across the world, but Victor Hugo's epic tale, Les Miserables, has had a face-lift. The same compelling story audiences everywhere have come to love is hitting the big screen with some even bigger names.

Hugo published Les Miserables in 1862, and it's felt nearly that long since the movie trailer surfaced back in May.

We've finally scored another look at Academy Award–winning director Tom Hooper's film adaptation of this classic, and it definitely does not disappoint.

Les Miserables

SheKnows found an array of stills, artwork depicting Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried adorned as their French characters.

Les Miserables is a timeless piece cast in 19th-century France and laced with passion, sacrifice and redemption. True to its roots, the big-screen interpretation features the staple songs "I Dreamed a Dream,""Bring Him Home,""One Day More" and "On My Own."

Jackman, no stranger to Broadway, draws from his experience with musicals to play ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, who has been hunted for years. He is cast opposite Crowe, who plays the ruthless police officer, Javert.

As the story goes, Valjean agrees to care for a young girl, Cosette , the daughter of a factory worker named Fantine, played by Hathaway.

We saw glimpses of the story unfold in May's trailer, but we can finally slow things down a bit and enjoy the characters in their full beauty. Just click here!

Soak 'em up.

The film won't hit theaters until Christmas.
